Living with Nature - Our Ecological Efforts
What does it really mean to live with nature — consciously, gently, and with genuine respect?
You can build with the finest materials, but if a home takes over the land without leaving room for its original residents, something essential gets lost. The monkeys, birds, and trees care far more about whether you keep their favorite wild corner intact – or even better, reforest a little piece just for them.
Why not plant a banana tree for our furry neighbors, or install a simple wildlife bridge so they can safely cross between treetops? Small choices like these help protect the natural movement of animals in this tropical dry forest – and they’re part of how we honor this land every day.
As we continue shaping Bosque del Pacifico, we keep asking ourselves where we can improve, restore, and give back.
If you become part of this community or join any of our experiences, you’ll be supporting that same spirit.
Bosque del Pacifico is more than real estate – it’s a living, breathing place where we get to connect, grow, and build a life with our hearts in the right place.
Actively Nurturing Life Here
These are the core ecological actions we carry out to care for this land and the forest that surrounds us.
1. We are maintaining and reforesting a beautiful forest
Our forest is home to the abundant wildlife of the tropical dry forest — armadillos, dears, monkeys, iguanas, butterflies, the iconic tucán pico de fuego and more.
We’re actively helping this land regenerate by planting endangered native trees, restoring areas to their next natural stage, and adding flowering plants that pollinators love.
It’s an ongoing journey. Step by step, we’re doing our best to give this forest the best chance to thrive.
Trails and quiet nature spots have already been discovered and gently shaped. Visits are possible by appointment, offering a peaceful glimpse into the ecosystem we’re nurturing and our center Alma del Bosque that is taking shape.
2. Mapping and Respecting Protected Trees
One of the very first things we did, with the help of a professional forest engineer, was to map out all the protected trees across Bosque del Pacifico.
It’s not required by law – It’s simply part of our values.
This way, everyone knows where we stand as a community: the trees that have been here long before us deserve our respect and care.
You don’t need to cut down what’s already standing tall and beautiful – in fact, planting a few more might be even more rewarding.
3. Your Lot, Your Home & With Nature in Mind
Here, having a spacious lot is the standard – not just for the privacy and peaceful lifestyle, but because it supports something deeper.
As we settled with the national registry every land owner is allowed to build up to 30% of your land, and most of our home designs use less percentage than that.
Why? Because space matters – for you and for the life around you. That extra room gives you a unique opportunity to preserve native plants, let wildlife roam freely, and create the kind of lush ecological garden you’ve always dreamed of.
Instead of cramming lots for profit, we leave space – for you and the forest to breath.
4. Preserving the Natural Flow of Water and Fauna
Nature doesn’t move in straight lines or neat boxes – it flows, curves, adapts. And so should we.
That’s why we do our best to honor the natural shape of the land. Preserving water flow and respecting wildlife paths helps keep the ecosystem in balance.
The animals, trees, and plants have their own memory of the land — and we listen.
We don’t force a fit — we make space.
Evolving with Intention
This is not a fixed plan - it’s an evolving journey.
We’re always learning, listening, and exploring new ways to do better. Some ideas are already in motion, like creating natural pools that collect water where it already flows – becoming safe drinking spots for wildlife during the dry season (and yes, this could be part of your own garden, depending on the lot you choose).
We’re also researching sustainable building materials like compressed earth, sugarcane, or other natural blends. But we don’t just follow trends – we test carefully to make sure they truly work for our climate and offer a high-quality home.
Your comfort matters just as much as our ecological values – and we aim for both.

Why These Efforts Matter
Caring for the land isn’t just an environmental choice — it directly shapes the quality of life here. A thriving forest regulates temperature, supports clean water, protects wildlife, and creates the peaceful atmosphere that makes Bosque del Pacífico special.
These small daily decisions — preserving trees, respecting water flow, creating safe spaces for wildlife, planting native species — are what allow this place to feel alive, balanced, and deeply connected to its natural roots.
When you invest here, participate in activities, or simply walk the land with us, you become part of that long-term care.
Nature gives generously — and we do our best to give back.
Why Ecological Living Matters Here
Living with nature isn’t just a philosophy for us — it’s a practical, everyday commitment.
Here in the tropical dry forest, every small choice shapes the land for decades to come.
By protecting trees, restoring native species, honoring water flow, and designing homes that breathe with the ecosystem, we’re creating a community where people and wildlife can truly thrive together.
This approach isn’t about perfection — it’s about awareness, responsibility, and doing what’s right for the land we call home.
